The Cross bridges the Gap….
This morning as I climbed out of bed, I saw the Cross hanging from the silver chain and I reached and turned on my CD player. I asked God for a moment to thank Him for bridges to cross the gap between my sinful heart and His holy presence….for I am a woman of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty …….
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of host will perform this.
The Cross is the instrument that bridges the gap between God and wo-man. We have a choice to choose this day whom we will serve. As we get out of the comfort of our bed’s each morning, before the sun rises in the east and we jump in our clothes, we can stop and seek God in prayer; we can thank Him for this new present bestowed upon us and worship Him in Truth and Spirit. We can walk into this gift of time today and trust Him with each moment, call on His name to see us through whatever comes our way and know that He is more than able to see us through it.
Yes indeed…God is our salvation. We can trust Him and shout it from the roof tops. We can trust and not be afraid of what this day will bring. We can sing a new song just for this day. We can give thanks and know He is in control of this time and we can ask Him anything, believing and we shall receive good things from His hand.
